Choosing a Childcare for your child can be nerve-racking! Selecting the right child care is perhaps one of the most important decisions you will make during the early years of your child’s life. The decision demands thorough research on your part as you narrow down the most suitable environments for your little one.

Aside from the conventional concerns that will undoubtedly mean a lot to you (location, convenience, cost, etc.), many other factors are worth thinking about. The additional factors that need to be considered are the atmosphere, the methods used by teachers, the layout of the place, and its children’s happiness.

To help you on your path to finding the right Childcare center for your child, Rainbow Academy Learning & Child Care Center has formulated a guide to help you make an informed decision. Whether you’re a first-time parent or you’ve searched for childcare before, we have created this guide to help you while venturing into the world of child care centers.

Getting Started

Do your research: Helping young parents find the right child care facility that best fits their family’s needs always involves getting recommendations from other parents. Additionally, doing a little bit of online research will give you information like whether the Childcare in question is a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE), a stream of education related to children’s formal and informal teaching, and all aspects of their development.

Next Steps

Communicate with the Childcare provider: After researching and shortlisting possible Childcare providers in your vicinity, the next step is to communicate with the people there so you can confirm a few things. You probably would like to know the cost of tuition, application fees, and daily schedule. You could also ask questions related to accreditation and how many children attend the Childcare, child care philosophy, the health requirements for caregivers, the quality of the food offered, and their food or medical allergy procedures.

Check out the center in person: Once you’ve got answers to your questions and decided to proceed, next it is a good idea to request a tour of the facility. Another tip that will help you get a clear picture of the Childcare in question is to schedule the visit during working hours so you can observe how well the staff encourages the children’s learning and development during playtime.

Advice From The Pros

Talk to other staff: Finally, it’s always wise to have a quick chat with one of the staff so you can learn about what they do and get a feel for their ways of teaching and whether the playtime they conduct is child-focused or more teacher-led. All in all, take time to meet parents, children and staff so you can gauge how comfortable and happy your child will be in this new environment.
